Flywheel Bolts

I gather you need to always use NEW bolts when re-attaching a Flywheel . . .

(Out of interest, what's special about them, that you can't re-use them?)

Does anyone know how much they are from Toyota for an N/A ?

Given that they're likely to be silly money (for a bolt), anywhere I can get them more sensibly priced?

Blimey . . . . So over £12 each !! I didn't even imagine they'd be that much . . . . Problem is I don't have any to re-use

Anyone know of a cheaper source?

You may find the ARP ones are a bit cheaper. If cap heads are available from a reputable source, with the right thread and grip length, or with a combination that could have the thread portion shortened, I would happily use those. Personally I re-use the stock bolts, but as you don't have any, that's no good!

Thanks Chris . . . well I've found out that the guy I'm buying the Flywheel from has 7 used bolts . . . . so I'm going to risk using those !

But that means I'm short of one . . .

Does anybody have ONE spare s/h Flywheel bolt please ?!

Im not sure you should be using used bolts as they could have been over torqued and stretched excessively. Depends on the hands that have played with them.

Bolt prices should really depend on how well they are engineered such as one for a panel cover (doesn't do much) and one that's in a active position of vibration.

Of course you're right . . . . but sadly I'm on a very tight budget, so can't afford to pay more for the bolts than I have for the Flywheel !

And I've since spoken to several people who've re-used them, so I'm going to have to risk it and use plenty of Loctite

So if anyone can help with a single spare used bolt please let me know
