Hello everyone.

Everyone loves pops and bangs right?

Could you stick the bee-r rev limiter on the n/a supra? And wouldn't pop an bang with out breaking something like the rocker arms on my old nissan 200? Doh!

Thinking about that I doubt there's much to break to be honest.

I am thinking in the line of constantly bouncing off the rev limiter as to cause the fuel cut I am assuming you need to hold it there for it to engage? The NA engine is very robust but I am pretty sure it would shorten the life of the engine if used constantly. Could be completely wrong in my line of thinking.

I may be wrong but I believe the bee thing changes the limit if you choose. So you could set the limiter to 5krpm.

One of the other features it has, which is what the op is talking about, is to cut the spark to a cylinder for one cycle, thus dumping the fuel into the manifold and causing a big bang (anti-lag). Obviously with the N/A this is all for poops and giggles, but the main issue on tubby cars is that it cooks the hotside. If the tubby isn't made for this abuse it will significantly decrease the life.

No tubbys = no problems :D

I have a bee r fitted to my n/a and have used it plenty times with no problems at all its great fun and does make some serious loud bangs and pops. I have got couple videos of me using bee r, can upload them if you want or you can check my previous posts as posted them up couple months ago

Personaly I wouldn't bother at all. I've always wondered why people raise the limit on the na engine as it makes no difference in performance at all as far as I can see.

As others have said your making an engine do something it wasn't designed to do, I often air my thoughts about the na engine. If its reliability your after then that's the engine to go for, mines has years of abuse and if serviced properly they go and go.

Leave the limit I'd say.

If you want "pops and bangs" the only way to go would be a flamer kit ( spark plug in the exhaust and a switch to retard the timing) HOWEVER you must be 17 or a homosexual to have one :)

:yeahthat:

The GE powercurve has already "turned over" by 5500 so extending the rev limit isn't going to get you any more power unless you do something else to make it breathe at higher RPM.

I want to lower the rev limit. The bee r is adjustable. It will only be used for pops an flames. No launch control or anything like that.

Well in that case mate bee r will be fine for what you want, I use the launch control on mine but mainly its just a bit of fun when parked up sometimes.

Why does everyone insist on not reading anything prior to them posting? Who mentioned raising the rev limit? He wants it for pops and bangs, not to increase the limit.

I might have caused that by mentioning the word "rev limiter" :D

I looked it up afterwards & looks like it just cuts the ignition though I am sure I have bad things about them: http://www.nengun.com/bee-r/rev-limiter

In tubby's..... VERY bad IMO, if not looked after properly. As with all anti-lag if you overdo it, you'll kill your turbo.

On an N/A though? It's just a gimmick, there's no real functionality other than holding the revs at a certain level for launching. Of course there's the anti-lag feature which pops an bang but other than popping and banging it does nothing else as there's no tubby to anti-lag lol.

Yes i can understand that is chavish, but my 200sx used to pop and bang because of the map it had and mods etc. now wanted to do it to the supra. and always wanted to try one.

Ill prob only ever use it once or twice but still.... im just childish. big pops and bangs amuse me.

Just gets a bit embarrassing when you get 'mate that sounds awesome, let's have a look at the huge turbo you must have on it to get that noise'

'Well you see'

...

:blush::blush::blush:

Not at all, a lot of n/a cars pop and bang. Generally it's the overrun that causes it. It's just put to use with tubbys, that's all :)

I'd assumed he wanted to raise the rev limit too because he broke the rocker arms on his 200.
