theredone
Wanting to turbo my na supra I have a glanza with a td04l and wanting to know if the td04 would be okay to go on the supra?
Nic
It's a small turbo, not really suitable for a 3L engine, it would also require a custom made manifold and down pipe.
Dim Sum
Have a search within this forum. There's a few members on here which have done 2JZ-GE turbo conversion and there build thread is full of information.
Gpro
if your going to do it at least get a T4 flanged turbo so you can upgrade in the future. Don't make a custom manifold just for a tiny TD04 you would get bored of it in an hour
David P
On a stock 10:1 it'd give a lagless 280-300bhp.

David P
Some folks don't like lag and would be happy with 300bhp.

fastcar
Whiffbitz does a nice single turbo conversion for the 2JZ-GE would probably be your best bet if you want to go that route

Ian C
A Starlet turbo won't flow enough to feed the 2JZ engine. It'll be great below 4000rpm, after that it'll just cook the air then eventually explode due to overspeeding.

Al Massey
Big turbo kits are dear so was just thinking of running one why i save for a big turbo It's not just a case of sticking on a turbo mate. The kit that whiffbits do is one of the best kits available. If you try do it yourself, even with a cheap turbo you already have you will spend close to that just in various parts alone. Trust me, I'm currently building one myself. It's not a cheap kit, but I sourced all the parts myself, but at times wish I just bought the kit from whiffbits. theredone
Okay mate ill have a look for the kit What sort of things have to be changed For around 400 bhp New to this forum and dont know how to use it.
dr_jekyll
8psi, a piggyback ecu and a good map will see with cica 380bhp. 380bhp is a fast car and lots of fun to drive. with a ggod standalone you could go to around 12psi and see 400-410 bhp on stock compression. all this is on a completly stock unopend engine . Nic
Big turbo kits are dear so was just thinking of running one why i save for a big turbo To do a proper (ie. reliable) turbo conversion will cost many £K's, the cheapest option would be trade the NA in and buy a TT. Noz
I'm bored all of these `proper` turbo conversions. People get perfectly good results with lower or mid range components. Not everyone can afford top end premium components. Why can't people give a varied advice instead of always recommend the best product. I'm so bored of seeing tons of people recommend the same thing when other products have been proven. The best piece of advice is here: Save and buy a twinturbo. Your always want more power, though NA-t is cheaper than a TT conversion, the need for more power will be limited after 400bhp. Just save for a TT6. Ignore the reliability nonsense. Two TT swaps have had turbo fails, the last two NA-t remaps have been 4-500bhp. Enough said. But your always want more power, just get a TT and be done with it mate. I wish I did.
