SupraStar 3000
I wouldn't want my car featured on a ebay add without my permission. Also, thats a original doluck bumper, not a copy.

The Raven
I dont really see the problem, the car is clearly at a show in that picture. He isnt saying that he is selling the car or that bumper is he? Does that mean that we have to track down everyone that takes a photo of our cars and warn them not to use them? Mitch will have to become batman to sort that lot out!

It's also fraudulent advertising as the bumper they are selling doesn't reflect the bumper fitted to that car in the picture.

KamaSupra
I've seen 2 photos of my car on eBay for selling a bumper and then a spoiler, photos were taken from my garage on the forum. It annoyed me, but I thought well if I've put them on the Internet then it's my fault, as anyone can save them to their computer. Thankfully I had blanked out the No plates in the photos so that made it a little easier and I ended up not being too bothered.

Is he? the car was at a car show? did he have a sign saying "No photos" its not like the guy took them out side his house is it. The ad states its a fibre glass copy. Really dont see an issue
fastcar
I'm just pissed off because I thought the Do-Luck was for sale I got all excited and went on there just to find out its cheap knock off bumper for sale:search:
ashbuster
i mentioned this before the problem is that people buying this will think that thats the exact same bumper that they make and is fitted to another supra. that its their product when it isnt. if you were buying a bumper from someone on ebay and the fitment looks perfect and the shape of it was perfect, but when it arrived it wasnt the same would you still see no problem with the ad? No because i would have read the ad. "Please note: As with all FRP body kits preperation work which includes sanding, cutting and reshapping may be required, we also recommend that all our body kits are primed before painting. We recommend that all our products are fitted by a specialist aftermarket body kit shop or by someone who has experience in fitting after market fibreglass body kits. Please read our terms and coniditions BEFORE your make your purchase" Thats says to me that you might very well work on the thing before it fits. At no stage does it ever say "this is our bumper fitted straight out of the box with no work at all perfect fit"
ashbuster
most fiberglass parts need work and most ads say things like that and at no point does it say it isnt their bumper, they already put a photo up of their bumper so why add another photo of it on the car if its not theirs? Maybe the dont have a supra to fit it to? Looking at the other stuff for sale he would have to own prelude MR2 Skyline Focus EVO5 Supra Ford probe. Celica. And thats just the first page! And then strip them down fit his body kits, spray them, then remove the kit fit another one (he sells more than one kit per car). Or he could just find a picture of a car with it fitted and use that. Really dont see an issue I see your point but they are using a genuine bumper on a genuine car they have never seen or worked on as a selling point for their copies. Yes they have a disclaimer saying with all kits body work is needed but they are comparing their kits to the original and as using a photo to do that, implies it will look like that when finished. You really give these people to much credit, you think they even know thats a real kit? Chances are they looked at the pic and thought "wow thats nice we will use that" My car has real spats and real skirts. I wouldnt give a toss if they took photos of it at a show and used it for this stuff, to be fair even the real kit is sometimes a shocking fit hence mine was blended in. Didnt mitch pay a hell of alot of money for a do luck bonnet that was never ever going to fit? And he does body work for a living. All im saying is if you dont want people taking photos of your car dont take it to car shows, (if they had snapped a photo outside his house than thats different) If you are stupid enough to look at that photo dont read the disclaimer and think you can get this in the post bolt it on and spray it with a rattle can from halfords and bingo your car will look like the Doluck supra then you get whats coming to you im afraid.
