Gpro
I have 2 bosche 044 in tank pumps on a stock hanger. I have recently had problems with them sometimes not working which i finally found the problem and a bit worrying! i attached a picture for reference. I am planning to run 2 seperate wires from battery-relay-pump Should i drill in the fuel hanger and run the wires through their? as the stock adapter is just melting it won't handle 2 pumps
TheTurtleshead
Wire both stock earth and live up as +ve. Then drill a small hole through the top of the hanger and earth the pumps to the underside with a ring terminal, and then on the other end of the bolt earth the pumps to the chassis with another ring terminal. Sorted
Gpro
just to get it straight. The blue is live the black is ground. Make the ground live and run it on 1 pump and the other live on the other pump. Then drill etc for earth (I get that part)
Chris Wilson
The stock tank top connector terminals are not up to running a single 044, let alone two of them. You need to bypass the stock connector assembly, and wire direct via proper fuel proof feed throughs from the likes of the fuel cell manufacturers, before you have a fuel fire. heckler
I used aircraft cable - rated at 60 Amps

Hi Chris, As always do you happen to have a link for an example of a proper fuel feed? I used the approach above with 2 wires into 1 and drilled through for the earth - 10 gauge for the earth and +ve but perhaps it maybe time to upgrade again. Chris Wilson
Expensive, but proper: http://www.atlltd.com/2-pin-miltary-connector.html Demon Tweaks used to sell fuel proof wire feed throughs, from ATL or Premier, I used them on several cars. They may still list them. Much cheaper, then you can do the disconnect with normal external to the tank connectors. I can take a photo if required. You know its expensive when it doesn't even have a price on the website! Ill pull the pump out and look what can be done and how I would connect a setup like that
Chris Wilson
The MIL connector set will be circa £100 or so, plus you need the crimping tool about another £80. I use these feed throughs, no break in wires from pumps until out of the tank : http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/fuel-pump-accessories/atl-clubman-electrical-connector-set-bulkhead-and-quick-release-fittings

Chris Wilson
No, that's not how they work. You use 6 hot glue melt terminals on your leads to your pumps. Bring a pair of wires off the last pump (hence 6 eyelets) up through the tank, *THROUGH* the feed through bulkhead adapter (top left), and outside of the tank. Then you use the matching plug and socket *OUTSIDE* of the tank to your control relay. Which needs to be good quality and high amperage. Probably a genuine Bosch one, not something off Ebay. You will need to turn up a top hat adaptor to replace the stock tank top. I do them in alloy and use bulkhead feed through -8 Aeroquip fittings. I can easily take a photo of the Skyline one if you want.
Gpro
Would this work. Take the oem wires from the fuel pump and feed them above the fuel rail then wire them to positive. So you won't have any connections inside the actual fueltank (If the wires reach that is, need to double check)
