ballsdeep
David does it matter which way I plumb it back in then? Im na-t now so should I install a TT one or would it be pointless?
David P
I'd need to look at it with that in mind, never considered boost on N/A cannister? Remove it and blank off both hoses, the bottom drain can be left open or removed to save a few more ounces of weight?
ballsdeep
That's my problem David I'm trying to fit it back in, I get a whiff of fuel every time I stop to let a passenger out so wanted to see what it's like with it back in but wasn't sure where to put the vac hose and where to put the hose from the tank? David P
How do you have it plumbed at the mo?
ballsdeep
At the mo it's capped at the hose coming from the fuel tank and I don't currently have a vac source because Iv deleted the vac canister and gone TT intake manifold so il need to T off from somewhere. The picture I posted above is just where I put it in place but quickly realised I wasn't sure if it mattered which way round they go? David P
With the pipe to tank blanked, it can't be coming from there, replacing a blank with a cannister can't change a thing? I'd be more interested to inspect the fuel system from top to toe, it's only pipes and plumbing.
ballsdeep
Sorry when I say blanked I mean a bolt jammed down a pipe plus I'm sick of having boxes and bags full of parts lying all over the house and don't actually see why I removed it in the first place??? Chris Wilson
Are you sure the fuel smell is from the tank breather system? What type of fuel hoses are you using???
ballsdeep
Stock apart from the damper bypass pipe, it doesn't smell all the time only when I drop my mate off and he opens the passenger door, if I leave it idling and get out I can't smell anything! Il double and triple check the fittings around the fuel filter for peace of mind!
Glanza_Mike
Instead of starting a new one i thought i'd just bump this up, removed my charcoal canister this morning and I've read at least 5 threads and can't get a definitive answer on this. So.... Should the line from the tank be blocked or vented? there must be a 'this way is definitely best' version but i can't find it. David P says to block and some others say vent in a wing or at the back of the car etc. So which one is actually correct? thanks.
pedrosixfour
So which one is actually correct? thanks. Neither. Both. And, despite the years ropey theories and non-agreement, what makes you think YOU'RE so special that YOU'LL be blessed with a definitive answer today?? Frank Bullitt
Give Chris Wilson a bell, he removed mine for me.
a98pmalcolm
I conneted the fuel breather to the under pipe so it can still vent. Im sure david is correct but didnt want to blank the fuel tank beather. I did once and upon the removal of the blank the suction sound it made was suprising so for my own piece of mind I just linked it to the pipe that you will see upon removal underneith
