black_widow87
Hi guys, recentley developed a misfire throughout the the rev range whilst on boost. 3000rpm onwards. Tried giving it boost in 2nd 3rd and 4th, all having the same effect, even when giving it half throttle at 0.8-1.0 bar. Its hard to describe the sound but it almost sounds like a machine gun if that makes any sense? Its not a smooth sound like it should. Current spec is Precision turbo, 46mm wastegate, 550cc injectors, AEM FIC, HKS DLI, NGKBKR8EIX iridium plugs, currently running at 1.3 bar off wastegate spring producing 523bhp. Like i said this problem has pretty much occured overnight! Any suggestions? Jake

black_widow87
I did think it maybe the plugs. I actually took all plugs and coil packs out yesterday and gave them a good clean to see if it would make any difference. Took it for a blast to the shop afterwards and misfire had gone..happy days!! Took it to work today only to find that it has returned.
Paul Whiffin
Start with coil pack clips, make sure they are in one price. If they are then try a new set of spark plugs. And then if its still there it's time to replace those 20 year old coil packs I'm afraid.

Would you say its definitely spark related and not fuel related then?

If you are still running the original coil packs then the chances are it will be these at fault.
