Tsia
Hi all, Trying to get my head around the way the exhaust system etc works. I know there's a cast bit that attaches to the manifold with an o2 sensor slot, but then I notice that the 1st decat also has an o2 sensor slot. Does the decat replace this part? If not, would there not be two o2 sensors? Probably being stupid, but hey. Cheers
chris0132
It's a cat heat sensor mate you just remove it and most just cable tie it to the chassis
Tsia
Ahh, I see! B*gger, there I was thinking I was going to get away with not having to source this bit by getting a decat - nevermind! Thanks.
safcdixon
The one in the 1st cat or decat is the cat overheat sensor, some decats come with the hole fir refitting some dont, the o2 sensor is in the cast part sbove the first cat which stays in place I think thats what your asking mate Edit i was far Too slow

hackin_n_bashin
It's not the end of the world. Couple of hours with the right tools and it'll come off. Give all the nuts and bolts a good soak beforehand with plug gas. I've not had the cat overtemp sensor in for a couple of years, and it's unplugged under the dash, the circuit isn't complete and my light isn't on. - - - Updated - - - As a heads up I've just been told its a nightmare of a job too gonna try and do mine tomorrow and really not looking forward to it can be it being a long ass job and fiddly Where in the west mids are you mate, I'll be in Walsall all next week.
