Mike B
Hi all, I've been quietening the car down over the last 2 years and I'm done with the bov noise, so I've removed the hks bov and blanked it off. Surprisingly I'm getting chatter on lift off. I thought I was hearing things! Is it really chatter from the blades? T67dbb Is there any way around it? A silent bov that will get round the chatter? Scott
The chatter is just the back pressure as the turbo is still generating pressure onto a closed throttle body. As the turbo slows down the gas escapes through the blades stalling it and giving a chatter noise. Best way to get around this is to re-fit the BOV and recirculate it using a recirculation kit. Could make it look very tidy
Mike B
Is there a silent valve I can use capable of dealing with a t67? Looking to completely silence it... Re-route it to the intake? Thanks for the info..

Thanks for the info.. I can't comment on the exact spec etc but I know that the HKS Super Racing BOV can handle just about any situation. Whether or not there is a recirculating attachment or not I don't know. With regards to the SSQV, if that's what you had originally, you can get a recirculating adapter which, I believe, makes it completely silent.... as long as the pressure can be released quickly enough. If you were getting a lot of chatter with your previous BOV then it would suggest that it wasn't up to the task of venting the pressure. However, if it was just a normal BOV whoosh then that would suggest it was up to the task. Next step is simply to get the vented gas back into the intake while not creating a restriction in the process.
Gaz6002
The Super Racing BOV can re-circulate so won't make any ghey noises
