evening people my aem fic went gone pop! I have 550cc injectors cars running abit rich sometimes, seems fic not the best mod but makes setup abit stronger that I have, AFR seems mainly normal on wot cruise

1 replace unit

2 standalone ecu

3 fit uk spec ecu random Qs

4 can I leave it as is long term with jap ecu only

some Qs need to figure out best route not planning on single due to cost etc.. maybe ttc ;);)

You'll be running too rich and will probably encounter a poor idle and possible stalling as the revs drop. However, Syvecs is comically massive overkill for 440cc->550cc on a stock sequential setup. An Apexi AFC would do the trick, just needs the aitrflow signal trimming down to stop the overfuelling. An E-Manage blue or MAP2 ECU if you want to really sort it and find one second hand.

UK spec ECU is a no-no, it'll expect a MAF for a start.

While standalones are all capable of running this, an airflow fudger handles that injector increase nicely and is easy to map. The stock ECU will still be dealing with all the twiddly stuff that's complex to map (cold start, aircon idle-up, various correction stuff etc.) so is the fastest and cheapest option for a nicely running car.

£150 quid for one here:

you could always get another fic 8 then you save money on mapping as you can just get the software and copy your map that you already have the just plug in you new fic and flash it across, still is not lost though as you say looks like you have a loose pin just repair it

How about a power fc , I saw on the skyline forum apexi have started selling new units along with a updated style hand controller that you can actually see in daylight £650 via nengun

Running hybrid turbos I'd go with Ian's advice and fit a piggyback ecu, I'd be on the lookout for a 2nd hand emanage ultimate. Ran mine with stock turbos, bigger injectors, cams, etc. for years with an emanage, never gave me any problems.

i'll be looking around as ian and a few others have said, all good advice

As always, choose your installer and mapper and go with what they are happiest and most familiar with. Adaptronics are good value, but few mappers are totally au fait with them.

as you said chris already been in contact with several people who can do this, gonna try the plugs, wiring etc.. then see how it goes if I can fix it will save £400-£700 so keen to try

with all the help from the forum i'm hoping to will update as I go this wk end
