mintedm Posted August 4, 2013 Share Posted August 4, 2013 Hello everyone not been on here in a while, recently got the supra back on the road after a couple of years of it sitting in a garage, now was driving somewhere and stopped at lights and the temp gauge suddenly went up got a wee bit along the road and into car park and switched it off, unknown to me the radiator had been leaking slowly. So let it cool right down stuck some water in it and got it home, now im worried incase its done some serious damage car seemed to run fine going home and dash gauge never went up above halfway. Didnt seem to move at all, gauge defo works because it rattled up pretty quick at the lights before i stopped, got a wee water temp gauge in the car, was showing 182-190 ish will driving but let it idle at the house and went up to 215 ? Hmmm. If your coolant temp gauge is accurate and it went up that high then the coolant will have been boiling its nads off. In fact it will boil at anyting much above 120. mintedm Posted October 13, 2013 Author Share Posted October 13, 2013 ok sorry for the delay not had a chance to get back out to it , had the radiator out and water seemed to be feeding through ok, now had it running and theres hot and cold parts of radiator and heater is not heating up, air lock?
