Jamie698
Dash lit up under acceleration, standard two warning triangle symbols, battery symbol and orange car symbol. Quick look under the bonnet and the alternator pulley is not spinning, looks like there is sufficient belt contact. Is this common for the alternator to seize or is it more likely the belt tensioner is at fault?
Rich.2211
Take the aux belt off (5 minute job) and try turning the alternator pulley by hand. I have known of one seize before but don't think it's a common issue.
Jamie698
Thanks will do, should it be fairly easy to spin by hand if functioning correctly?
Rich.2211
There will be a small amount of resistance but pretty easy to spin by hand yes
