bambisdad
Hi Guys The lacquer on the top of my spoiler is in a bit of a state. How should I go about rubbing it down and re-spraying? Is it something that I could do or am I better off taking it to the body shop? Edited July 31, 2013 by James (see edit history)
Guest Chewbacca
Carbon fibre can be bad for fading laquer, wet and dry it with p800, give it a light coat then a generous coat. you may have to repeat the process a few times.
listy
My bonnet and APR wing could do with being done, but I don't have the balls to attempt it myself
Guest SL1D3Y
Get a decent uv resistant clear coat to help with future fading. Being a painter i would always suggest to get it into a pro to put a couple of good coats of clear. If you take yyour time it can be done out of a can and look pretty good. I would recommend no coarser paper than 1200 wet and dry to be honest, then 1500 after the first 2-3 coats are dry, then apply 2-3 more coats, 1500 and polish using something like g3. Oh and listy, unless your using a spraygun i wouldnt attempt anything as big as a bonnet! That would be brave, always vinyl wrap thou! ;-) Need any help drop me a pm cheers mikey Edited August 5, 2013 by SL1D3Y (see edit history)
