Some Upgrade Advice

A little bit of advice is needed .

I am staring with a stock car 94 TT auto GZ. To start with i am looking to fit an exhaust (either nur spec or maybe a wifbitz) also some induction maybe just a change to a blitz filter, also adding a blitz dump valve and turbo gauge just to keep an eye the boost.

I am pretty sure i dont need any extra cooling, will this all run fine together or do i need anything else?

Any ideas on power gains that will give?

As you have been told in another thread, keep the stock air box. It has two external air feeds that suck in cold air. Aftermarket systems suck in warm air from inside the engine bay. Colder intake = more power ;)

Other than that, a BOV won't affect the performance really.

The exhaust (I'm guessing you're getting a cat back system?) wont change much bar the sound.

What you really want is:

1st and 2nd decat with a cat back exhaust and a 1bar restrictor ring. Allows more flow and improves power.

Keep the stock air box, but replace the standard filter with (for example) a K&N panel filter.

Replace the intercooler for a new one or get an FMIC (if you haven't already)

Fit a Fuel Cut Defender.

Install colder grade spark plugs (NGK iridium bkr7eix)

Replace the fuel pump with a Walbro pump.

Fit a boost controller to control the boost.

The above, is better known as BPU.

:yeahthat:

Before doing any 'performance modifications', I'd make sure the car has had a thorough service, all fluids, filters, plugs, coil pack connectors, O2 sensor, brakes checked, suspension checked, alignment checked/adjusted, tyres checked/balanced, etc.

Fitting an induction kit will reduce the power and response.

Fitting an aftermarket BOV will make no difference to the power, you'll just get the (annoying :) ) pppssshhh noise on lift off.

Is the intercooler in good condition?

Click -> BPU doing these modifications has a significant effect on the power produced and the response of the turbos and really brings the car to life.

Fitting a cat back exhaust will increase the power slightly, fitting an induction kit will reduce the power slightly.

Or get in on Chris' group buy for his uprated side mount intercoolers while you can! :)

All of the above have been checked and changed if needed the intercooler seems in good condition. The car came with full service history and had only done 47000 miles.

I am getting the cambelt done on thursday as even though it has not reached the miles it has no sign of it being done just advised on the service sheets.
