Sharpie
I have used the search button both here and on MKIV.com but, just want to make sure that I get the right ones. (I have UK TT running with a little more boost than stock) I have read: http://www.mkiv.com/faq/faqtt.html#enginefeatures1 and wanted to know if you agree with the comments re: 1095/3330 - BCPR7ES, on this side of the pond ? and if I understand correctly, the NGK (1283) BKR7E-11: B would be the best choice if I can get them ????? Oh, any reason to go 2 grades colder ??? or is this too cold ? Thanks
Alex
BKR7E's are what I run at up to 1.3bar. without missing. gap to 30thou. ish! They are only 1 grade colder than stock...or they should be!
dude
what are the HKS iridiums like ???? John:flame Dev
THOR Racing
I had BCPR7ES in my Supra. (Thought they were BKR7E's) and they are fine to 18psi (Not sure above as I don't go there!) I would say that BCPR7ES BKR7E BKR7EVX Are all O.K. up to 18psi. easily. Regards Pete
B3any
I got HKS iridiums they are fine to 1.4 Bar not been any higher though......
Alex
HKS plugs are Denso's rebadged. Denso IK22's and IK24's should work fine. 24 is about an 8 on the grading I believe. Possibly too cold. HKS have S40i's and S45i's which are basically the same just more expensive. NGK's have to be changed every other oil change as they have a "normal" construction which doesn't last as long as the iridium's under high boost conditions. but they cost a damn site less. Willson
I have recently put in the BKR7E and was misfiring at a little over 1 bar. I gapped them down to 0.7mm and that mostly sorted it. It did still miss on me once though. Can I gap slightly lower ? What are the negative effects ? The car is runnig nice and idling smooth. I asked NGK but they didn't really answer and just said fit some BKR7EVX (?), I think platinum tip or something. Cheers,
Guest Martin F
You can try gapping them down further, but reducing the spark plug gap can sometimes mask the true problem. Which tends to be failing coil packs. Unfortunately failing coil packs are not easy to test, the best way is by substitution but you obviously need to find a friendly Supra owner with A1 coil packs to save on splashing out. Willson
I read about poor emmisions and fuel consumption but I think I will know if I have a probem with those. But will I mess stuff up (damage the engine) if the gap is too low ? Cheers,
B1SEP
HKS S40i's , grade 8 , are £14.50+v each and work an absolute treat , pre-gapped at .85, last 20k miles+ and should take 1.5bar+ have used them in all my jap cars and very happy with the results ! Steve Cargill
I got my last set of BKR7E's from an MX-5 specialist, £1.87 each and arrived the next day. http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info.php/products_id/236?osCsid=05cb69ffe7064312447077425580627d

Alex
Does that make the S45i a grade 9 which would suggest there is an IK26....????
B1SEP
Yes, S45 are grade 9; I ran these in my supra without any problems, though I normally fit S40's.

That would be the logical step but I think 9's are OTT TBH. Never looked past IK24's.
