MrRalphMan
Hiya, Is it possible to get resonable timings for 0-60, 1/4 Mile, 1/2 Mile etc from GPS?
JustGav
Check out the GTech Pro SS units, they don't use GPS, but they calculate 0-60's and all that kind of stuff using G-meters.... AND they are accurate for BHP provided you get the weight right Gav
terribleturner
Yeah Datron use a system (Micron or something) that uses GPS. We used their equipment at Bovingdon but in the hands of amateurs it wasn't as well done (that reminds me to get the data out ) Search for datron technology on google and you should find all the info. Homer
Simialr to the G-Tech pro units, Race-Technology make a simialr bit of kit (which I think is a bit cheaper!). There's a few of us here who have them. http://www.race-technology.com/WebPage2/index_en.html Great for getting data off and onto the laptop, espcially the track features. A very nice bit of kit for the money!
Todd
Normal GPS, nope. From memory your normal GPS units have a 1 second update time which pretty much renders them useless for timings. I had a prog on the pda that charted and plotted your altitude, avg speed and all that jazz, you could then upload it to excel. Fun to play with but no real hard stats.
