Nodalmighty
Just looking at the wiring diagrams for the GS400 1UZ VVTi 5-Speed auto and I notice the Supra VVTi auto wiring diagram has the same number of solenoids drives. http://wilbo666.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/57949274/201208261749%202JZGTE%20VVTi%20ECU%20Pinout.png So is it a 5-speed auto? David P
Fifth gear is by means of using O.D. for an additional gear between third and fourth, the ECU solenoid shift selections are different.
Nodalmighty
I never knew the Supra ran a 5-speed auto. You learn something new every day. Is the box any bottle? Lyndon.
David P
It doesn't, but maybe could with a piggybacked Lexus 5 speed ECU.
Nodalmighty
How many epicyclics does the Supra VVTI box run? Lewis Rally Sport and I are putting a 1uzfe VVTI and 5-Speed Auto into a Supra shortly. I was wondering if I could seal the VVTi Supra shifter and surround. Lyndon. David P
I'd need to read the Workshop Manual to answer that, so I'll let you. I'm aware of Del's project. If you mean "steal", I'd think the VVTI shifter surround with Lexus 5-speed centre-section would get you close enough to jiggle.
