1JZGTE
When doing my discs and pads yesterday on the front, I used an F clamp to gently push the pistons in, winding in slowly and also made sure the brake fluid reservoir cap was off. I did one at a time, slowly and only as much as I needed to push them in. Got me thinking - how difficult would that job be / how would you approach it with 4 or even 6 pots! Dnk
You use the old pads and lever in all the pistons at the same time
1JZGTE
If I do one at a time, am I doing any damage? In my case, the way the caliper is, I simply can't put the clamp anywhere symmetrical, so I did each side individually...pic below to illustrate as it is difficult to understand in words only:
Dnk
No your fine doing one at a time
1JZGTE
Thanks for the response So I can just about do an oil + filter and a disc + pad change.
scott87
Or grab a cheap piston rewind kit of ebay. That way it does 2 pistons at the same time
1JZGTE
If you mean one of these (below), I have one and it doesn't fit, obstructed by several things including the holes in the caliper assembly, as shown above in my pic.

I have a slightly different one and place it above the piece of metal you are on about, then use a larger plate that came with the kit to wind the pistons in : )
