Rich.2211
Just stumbled across an issue I'm sure I have read about on here before - basically the oil return and fittings catch on the manifold and also the flange on the exhaust housing of the turbo. Even if I clock the turbo slightly (as I have done in the picture below) then the side of the large nut on the Aeroquip style fitting hits the exhaust housing flange - making it impossible to bolt the oil return flange to the turbo. Any ideas or help? My ideas so far are to get an extended oil return flange like the ones Whifbitz sell, but it will need a 45 degree bend on it ideally, or maybe take a little material of the exhaust housing flange to clear the Aeroquip style fitting. Fly
Can you not remove the male fitting from the turbo. Connect the aero quip fitting and then reconnect the whole thing back onto the turbo? As it looks your just having an issue screwing the aeroquip on.
Rich.2211
Can you not remove the male fitting from the turbo. Connect the aero quip fitting and then reconnect the whole thing back onto the turbo? As it looks your just having an issue screwing the aeroquip on. That's what I've tried to do in the above picture mate (attach it all in one go).. but the male fitting to the turbo is a good 3mm to the right away from where it should be because the Aeroquip fitting is stopping it, so it won't bolt up. I've also tried connecting the male fitting to the turbo and then attaching the hose afterwards but there's no way to thread it on as the Aeroquip style fitting fouls on the exhaust housing flange. Hope that makes some kind of sense? Edited July 13, 2013 by Rich.2211 (see edit history)
Fly
Harm in that case yu need the extension, I'm sure whiffbitz could bend it. What's everyone else done?

I'm trying to search on clubna-t but the site has been sold!? Hopefully Noz or Fosta etc. will be able to cast some light into this as well to see how they have done theirs. I'll drop Paul a PM, see if he could bend one

Rich.2211
Hmm maybe this would work well.. http://www.dm-motorsport.co.uk/an10-oil-return-adapter-836-p.asp
Noz
Can't remember off top of my head how mines connected down there compared to yours, I think mine's a lot easier to get to. I'll go grab a look in a minute. Was a heavy night, I can barely remember where I parked it
Rich.2211
I've managed to do it now luckily, but any pics of yours would still be appreciated mate. Ended up using trusty grinder and shaving back the turbo flange to match the manifold flange. Gave just enough clearance
Fly
That is tight, I love the high build quality of these kits probably the reason they are doing so well

Ian C
Have a look on the left of this picture and you'll see the flange with a 45deg elbow screwed onto it. You put that elbow on the flange, then the flange onto the turbo. This moves the oil return lines' upper nut out of the way of the turbo housing

It's fitted now but I'll still bare that in mind as those fittings would of saved me some work. I also realised I'm using a 30 degree bend as oppose to a 45 degree bend which wasn't helping matters, but now I've got the 30 to work then I'll stick with it so there's less resistance on the return line. Thanks again
