Exhaust repair.

Is it possible to patch up some holes on an exhaust?

The whole exhaust system is fine but after my last service they pointed out that I have a few pin holes in my exhaust.

In this picture it would be the part where the black pipe meets the back box.

The join has two tiny holes, you could probably fit the tip of a biro pen into one hole, the other one is like the service guy said "A pin hole", the area around the holes looks rusty and brown. The rest of the pipe and back box look to be in fine condition.

Is it repairable or am I looking at a new back box?

The problem with getting a new back box is the fact that I have a Trial exhaust and I can't find anyone who supplies them in the UK.

Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated.

Welding it is then :)

I am suprised it has corroded slightly, someone did say it probably has something to do with the original welding, something about dirt particles getting under the weld.

Alway thought stainless steel exhausts would last forever, or at least out live the car.
