Stupid question for you all to argue...What is the proper why to check your Oil Level

I get it so it is just level with the filler cap. If it over flows you have put too much in.

 

If your car is using oil, this gives extended periods before you need to fill it up again.

I actually used to work with a guy whose wife did that once.

Remove sump plug, drain of oil, measure, replace via dipstick.......sorry that's the misses way

I also know a guy who did this .......keep putting it in until it covers the rockers
