Timlowthian
Well after having running and idling problems the complete second hand throttle body with sensors was changed. The has solved the running issues and it now idles and feel responsive again. Down side is it now struggles to start and needs you to keep pumping the throttle to start. Any one have any suggestion as to what to check?

Timlowthian
After doing more research online i keep coming across setting up the tps. Could this be the cause of my problems as it came with the replacement throttle body and i haven't adjusted this at all?
Digsy
I wouldn't touch the TPS if it came with the throttle body. Have you checked the idle control valve?
Timlowthian
So I checked all the connections on the ignition components and swapped them for the ones on the other N/A i have and still the same problem. I haven't checked the ICV on this one as the car runs perfect when its on where it didn't before. Should I take out and clean the ICV? I'm probably wrong but I didn't think it was used when starting the car just the TPS (I'm no mechanic as you can easily tell)
Al Massey
Is there tension on the accelerator cable?
Timlowthian
Is there tension on the accelerator cable? hmm i will check this out as i seem to remember it being slacker than with the previous throttle body. How tight should the cable be ideally?
Digsy
The car should be able to start with your foot off the throttle and the blade fully closed so it wouldn't matter if there was tension on the cable or not. The TPS wouldn't matter either as it would register the throttle fully shut. I don't think there is anything else that opens the throttle apart from the throttle cable. I just re read your first post and I see that it idles fine, so its unlikely to be the IACV.

Yeah but if the butterfly is open at any point, it could mean to much air is going in for the mixture and maybe struggling to start. However just realised it idles fine :/
Timlowthian
Yeh i find it really strange. What i think i will do is put the old complete throttle body back on and test that as with the old one it would start fine just idle like crap but start perfectly. If it starts ill know its something on the newer throttle body.
