JayJay1374
Hi all, i went to look at a facelift tt supra the other day, it had been sitting in a paintbooth for 18 months, it started with fresh petrol and a battery but its smoking quite abit, the cars only got 41000k on the clock, so is it smoking because its been sat or could it be dried up seals in the turbos or valve stems? thanks jonny
Westy
What colour is the "smoke"!?
mellonman
i would say give it a good blast oncve warm on the motorway then see if it still smokes , probably just moister in, on and around everything. note : please make sure all brake s and oil are good first
JayJay1374
it was a grey smoke but did smell abit like oil, the guys gonna clean up the brakes, the brakes work but the discs are abit rusty, and hes gonna do an oil change too. well ive left a deposit on the car so hopefully it wont be too bad, dont mind getting my hands dirty
SPG
Would you say the grey smoke had a blue sort of tint to it?

thetrashcanman
Is the smoke just on start up? If it goes once the cars warm could be the Valve Steam Seals Other than that as others have said its possibly just moisture
wile e coyote
Could be a oil control ring on a piston May get better on a good run Mark p porches smoked some before Dragonball but after was fine
JayJay1374
it doesnt really smoke on idle but it does smoke when rev'd so it could just be condensation, anyway a deposits been left on the car

Dnk
41,000 miles and seals are failing ? My car had done 137000 miles when i sold it and the turbos were fine with no signs of any smoke. valve stem seals needed replacing at 100,
JayJay1374
well then it might just be condensation, realistically need to take the car out for a good long drive to see.
safcdixon
Good to hear youve bought one dude, like some have said condensation probobly i had this issue a few months back after not starting the car over the winter had a panic on etc basically let it burn the fluid off in the exhaust and its fine now (well apart from a little vss blue on start up ) When are you collecting it? dan294
My RS turbo blows condensation after being stood in the garage for a bit, even if it's been warm outside. You might be OK. See what it's like after a decent drive, get it warmed up properly.
