Swampy442
Are all the plug leads on securely? Did you put the HT leads on the cap in the correct positions?
Suprakeith
Yes all ht leads are on right numbers on dizzy and did push all ht leads in. Am going to have another go sunday. At minute am running old dizzy with old rotor arm and new plugs and sounds the same as when had new dizzy and arm fitted, so do belive it possibly the spark plugs or something else but did check all vaccum hoses and connections and they all fine
Dnk
What do you mean when you say not running right ? If you have a missfire you can narrow it down by removing a ht lead 1 at a time off the dizzy cap which will show you which cylinder has a problem NA's have BKR5EIX IK20'S are the equivalent to BKR6EIX which you fit in a stock tt. 7's go in tt's running 1 to 1.3 bar Edited June 29, 2013 by Dnk (see edit history)
Suprakeith
She sounds like she missing and have smell of fuel so dont think one or more plugs arent firing, and will try that one lead off at time idea see what cylinders arent firing. And i had the denso 20s in but i have a non turbo supra so could the new plugs be the wrong type then? The spark plug code is in 1st post
Littler
Keith think you have fitted the wrong grade plugs in there, there for a BPU supra ideally as Dunk says I have them in mine and running 1.1 bar
Suprakeith
I think the same adam now been thinking about it, i got the plugs off ebay listed as na spark plugs which is lesson learnt for me. Will re fit the denso plugs and order some proper na sparks plugs next week, just a pain in the bum shall we say
marc_p
Keith think you have fitted the wrong grade plugs in there, there for a BPU supra ideally as Dunk says I have them in mine and running 1.1 bar You need the 5's in an N/A, 6's in a TT and 7's in a BPU

Scooter
...is everyone convinced the plug grade is the issue?
Suprakeith
Thats what i thinking as made sure all leads were fitted correctly and all vaccum pipes were fine aswell,am open to any other ideas and advice still as will be working on her again sunday
Scooter
I've no direct experience of the wrong plugs, I only said it as I thought the effect would be more subtle and unlike your problem perhaps not immediately noticeable on the first start up. Suprakeith
Well bit of update put old spark plugs back in but while doing up manifold broke this it goes into inlet manifold. Any one know what its called or way to bypass it please
Swampy442
Its technical name is a pulsation damper, you cant bypass it as its a vacuum feed for the MAP sensor I believe. Can still get them from Toyota I believe.
