2JZ-GTE Stock Twins Deleting All the Vacuum lines, Permanent TTC mode and an EBC.

Hey everyone

I am new to 2JZ engines and over the past few days I have diagnosed the rear turbo to be blown on a 2JZ-GTE VVTI swap. Right now I have the engine half out and Im removing the stock twins but the owner wants me to replace the stock twins with another used set. Right now I have two sets I believe one is JDM and one is USDM. Witch set would be more reliable?

The vacuum system is a little wild on these setups for the sequential turbo setup and we have decided to run the twins in TTC mode permanently so I was wondering if I can remove all the electronic switches and the vacuum lines pressure tank and all that jazz? And if so how can I run both wastegates off an electronic boost controller? He has a HKS V4 I think so I would like to use it to control the boost. Would I run both the lower ports to the compressors and the upper ports to the EBC solenoid? Im not to sure how these internal gates work with the two ports.

Thanks

Hey everyone

Yeah after removing the twins and comparing them to all the other sets we had they are totally different. My suspicions were correct the hole exhaust wheel of the rear turbo was gone. lol. We are ordering a single turbo kit instead.

Thanks

make sure its the right size for the power and use you want it for, remember its not just slapping on a larger turbo, you need

fuel pump,

ecu

injectors

manifold

wastegate/s

down pipe

breather set up

intercooling piping vabrication

intact vabrication

large air filter

fuel rail, and fpr are dependant on what injectors you go for

Well we looked for good single turbo kits but nothing looks good without spending 7,000$+ so to get the car driving again I just bolted the USDM set on. I will put the engine back in tonight or tomorrow and build a 3.5" DP for it and try it out.

Does the rear turbo wastegate get used anymore in TTC mode? The reason I ask is I am deleting all the vac lines and pluming it for a boost controller. I keep reading that the rear wastegate isn't used once in TTC mode so can I just loop the wastegate holes? Or better yet can I just remove the wastegate and wire the gate shut?

Thanks

Okay I have everything back in and running but now the alternator isnt charging. I traced down a wire at the plug (red/blue stripe) that runs from the 10A gauge fuse box. The fuse is testing fine but I am not getting 12+V at the plug when key ON. There is power at the fuse box. Somewhere between there it has been broken Im guessing does anyone have a diagram for the harness? I put a wire to the fuse in the box and to the alternator and the charging system came online. I believe it is a JDM Aristo harness and is wired into the IS300 running the 2JZ-GT 89661 ECU.

Thanks
