Matsi
Hey guys, I have a 1995 non turbo manual supra and I love it but I am thinking about saving abit of money and getting a twin turbo, I was just wondering what would you recommend getting, a uk spec or an import car, also I don't think I will be able to afford a good manual car so I will accept I might have to get an auto, what are they like to drive? And is there any difference in acceleration, My car is a 95 na manual, imported in 2005, it has around 70k miles on it, new maxxis tyres and just had a do luck bumper fitted and professionally painted, also comes with original 16"wheels and original bumper, new speakers all round and a dab radio and private plate, any idea on its value? I will up load some pics Thanks guys

thetrashcanman
You'd need a good 8k for a J spec TT6, above 10k for a UK6, or there's Guingsy's UK Auto for sale for the bargin price of £5500 Or Jspec Auto's regularly come up for around the 4-5k mark, or there's Drift Bear's lovely car for 7k. All depends what you can afford, the auto's are very good, but the manual's are a much more involving driving experience, comes down to personal taste in the end, you could always get an Auto and save up for a 6 speed conversion Best thing you could do is are there any meets near where you live? If you can get to one, go and ask the nice club members if they mind giving you a ride in a TT auto and a TT6 so you can compare the experience
jonc
At this point in these cars lives I would go for the best quality car you can afford. There are TT6's out there with leaking FMS, suspension all shot and turbos passing oil but hey they have a 6 speed box. There may well be low mileage TT auto imports which are sound and have non of the afore mentioned problems or the most expensive would be a Forum owners car which has been lavished with love and money and is fully set up ready to go. At this point in these cars life I would look pass the body kits and gismos and look at the mechanical state of the cars. Good luck with looking though as there are plenty of good cars out there Edited June 26, 2013 by jonc (see edit history)
