Jamie698
So I'm trying to revive my Scorpion T5000 original UK dealer install alarm as it hasn't functioned at all in my ownership. I have now got the fobs to function and lock/unlock the vehicle, and at the same time illuminate the interior security light on lock. However the indicators will not pulse and the siren is mute. I'm thinking the alarm battery is dead. Any ideas where it is to change? Also I managed to get a set of instructions for the t5000 off a Lexus forum in PDF mode if anyone wants a copy Pm me your email.

Iky
You might be able to refurb that one. can you read the part numbers on the components?
Jamie698
Only the battery had numbers on Iky, got a cheapie siren off eBay with a positive trigger and battery back up. Connected it up still nothing. So tonight I traced back the cables to the alarm ecu which is under the drivers seat and carpet. Just the 7 blade fuses under there lol. One of which was the culprit. Changed it, now everything working tickety boo.

I don't suppose you took a picture of the actual T5000 unit (inside the car) did you? I'm trying to locate that on my Celica. I'm replacing the batteries in the alarm unit too, just 5 tagged AA NiCd batteries, easy enough to get. A bit of alcohol cleaned up the board, did yours clean up OK or did you use the alternative sounder? Colin
Jamie698
Under drivers seat in Supra, my siren was burnt out so just replaced it. Happy hunting.
Wordy
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x78/j191freeman/EA18593E-FEE2-43C1-8DC0-F7636F959249-3443-00000222DC872FA5_zpsa4e4c5ff.jpg Ok so I've found the problem. Anyone got a functional siren / battery unit spare 345 written on side part no. 0027001021? I have purchased a Supra and as a U.K. spec comes with the Scorpion T5000 Alarm system as fitted. I know all about these as I have a Celica GT4 also a U.K. spec with the same alarm system and have managed to get the alarm horn working after a couple of times it went faulty. When not working it had an issue with the Lock/Unlock chirp response that occurs when you operate the remote key fob, in tandem with the side light flashers on the vehicle. But the alarm would still sound OK, just the chirp feature did not. I traced the fault to the Horn Unit that is an AC operated Unit unlike most DC Horn units available today, so a replacement DC unit off eBay will not solve your problem, unless you are very clever with electricals and components. You just have to troll for old U.K spec Celica's and find one - I did! The Battery NiCad batteries originally fitted were VRE AA 600 Nickel Cadmium 600mAh capacity and after 5 - 10 years would die, but you can fit modern Ni-MH batteries which come typical capacity 1300 - 2500 mAh. Anyway the battery pack (x4) is only there to keep the alarm going even if the car battery is disconnected. I also have the Original Installation manual as used by Toyota dealers who retro installed these Scorpion T5000 Alarms after vehicles arrived in U.K. to comply with U.K laws on Alarms. The wiring for the Supra would be similar to the Celica. 918 T and 901 T units that are the 2 boxes in the T5000 system are located under the drivers seat beneath the carpet. Similar 918 T and 901 T on the Celica located up behind glove box. Edited May 3, 2017 by Wordy (see edit history)
Tyson
There is a master key for the alarm to that arms / disarms the alarm under the bonnet I had to use this when my alarm when funny after the battery ran flat and the alarm wouldn't disengage. Do you have a circular key that looks like a castle turret ? I.e circular with notches in it all the way round ? something worth checking. Wordy
The Castle Key is used to enable and disable the Horn to stop you going def whilst working under the bonnet. You can also put something heavy to hold down the bonnet switch on the right side near the bulhead/wing area. which will silence the alarm.# Has anyone got a picture of the Horn for the UK spec Supra, I think the one that came with my car has been switched for another type, possibly because it had failed (as they can do)? Wordy
The siren will have 345 T on the side. I now have the Supra T5000 Alarm unit Toyota Service bulletin from August 1993 courtesy of Toyota Redhill.
