Never ending Wheel Hop!

Hey guys,

Im having wheel hop issues on my '95 BPU Supra for a while now, and have tried various things to try and resolve it. But yet the problem exists.

The moment the wheels lose traction in the straight line, I get wheel hop and no wheel spin, especially in the wet. This doesn't happen on cornering, the car slides well, but the moment it's in a straight line, there is wheel hop.

Some background on the suspension and tire setup:

Tien SuperStreet suspension

Rear - 275/35/18 Yokohama advan sport

Trying to resolve the wheel hop issue is have installed:

PHR solid differential ear mounts - front of diff

PHR solid differential mounts - rear of diff

PHR solid subframe mounts

PHR rear subframe mounts for sway bars

I've also installed new OEM suspension components due worn bushings and rubber:

Oem rear upper control arms - 48770a/ 48790

Oem rear toe control arms - 48710a/ 48720a

Oem rear lower arm - 48730f / 48740f

Oem rear anti roll bar link stabilizer - 48830d/ 48840a

Oem traction rod - 48780a (rh & lh)

Any suggestions on what else could be causing wheel hop? I've already spent a fortune trying to resolve this issue. I'm lost on what more I can do. I have taken advice of many members on other threads (relating to wheel hop) on this forum.

Pls help!!

Thanks

What's the condition of the control arm bushes?

Is it better or worse if you increase the damping?

(Not that I know anything about suspension tuning, you understand. :))

Control arm bushes are brand new. All suspension components replaced with new OEM components last month.

Wheel hop is about the same with different settings. Apart from the ride becoming unacceptable with a stiffer setting.

Is the wheel and/or tyre running round and true and well balanced?

I'm hoping the tyres are round as expected, they were replaced 3 years back (not too many miles on them since). No issue on alignment and balancing.

I had this on my tt at 400hp noise was so bad it sounded like the diff was going to fall out , going single cured it more power lol

Unfortunately no budget for a single setup!

Is there anything in missing out with respect to the suspension, diff or axle?

If you have access to, it would be simplest to try another pair of wheels/tyres from a Supra that's not hopping.

Ideally that would be the best thing to do. But unfortunately Supras are rare and scarce where I am, and is probably the only supra in the city. I'll however still try and find some tires of the same size, unlikely though.
