Toad AI606 communication problem!

Hi all, i bought a new siren unit to replace my old one tried to fit it today and had the weirdest thing happen. Disconnected the plug from the control unit, disconnnected the bonnet open ground, and fed new loom through. Connected everything up and nothing...no communication from the fob to the control unit whatsoever....fob key lights up (battery is fine, changed it earlier this year) no relays clicking, no flashing lights, no led flashing ontop of the steering wheel, no engine start, no crank nothing. Now the weird thing no matter what i tried the fob just wouldnt communicate at all, but when i turn the ignition to position 2, it workss as normal as it should, it locks and unlocks the doors, engine starts and i can drive it...as soon as i take the key out of the ignition, nothing works, no communication from the fob to the control unit. What the hell did i do?! to top it off the siren i bought hasnt even made a bloody noise yet. Im so pissed off with this car!

Ive checked all the connections i could, the main ones going to the unit...couldnt find any fuses, it seems to have communication when in ignition 2...but otherwise nothing, i dont get it. Any ideas?
