Battery cage idea

Been looking into better ways to support my battery in engine bay as the standard battery holder isnt the best and the clamp doesnt hold the battery as well as i like as get bit of movement sometimes and few times the clamp has come off back of battery tray.

Was thinking of riviting this cage into position to support battery alot better, just wanted to know if you guys think it will be safe plus stop battery from moving

I had a really annoying rattle last week and I could not find its origin. Looked under the bonnet and my battery clamp had come loose. It's the first time it's happened to me in 8 years though. Be interesting to see if it fits well

I bought a similar battery tray from ebay. Mine had the stock tray but the previous owner had rather badly cut the end off one side to allow the battery to move over to one side to fit a blow off valve on. I wanted to tidy this up and got a tray like that. First thing I found was that it wouldn't fit exactly where I wanted it to fit as there were a couple of raised ridges, in the end I moved it slightly and found an ok position. But how to fix it in place? like you I had the nice idea of bolting it down but at the same time I didn't want to drill into the metal possibly causing rust spots.

In the end I settled for a quick solution, get yourself to B&Q and buy a roll of no more nails outdoor adheasive tape, you might laugh but nothing is shifting that now and it was a lot easier to work with. The tray I bought just had the fabric strap to hold the battery down which isn't that good really, the one you linked with a physical clamp is better.
