Gpro
I have recently mapped the fueling on my car with a emanage ultimate but now i want to map the ignition timing but the problem is my ecu cant detect knock. Is their any device i can purchase to detect knock?
Tricky-Ricky
As i said in my PM in answer to your timing questions, you will need to make some det cans, easy job as i described, you can also purchase something like Phrmula KS-3 or KS-4 which will detect and log det, there is also a headphone add one but neither are cheap, but during mapping i would always use det can over electronic detection much more reliable when you are dealing with det during mapping. Tricky-Ricky
Yeah but how would i be able to use det can on road mapping? Use the car stethoscope option rather than converted ear defenders, stops the funny looks from other drivers;)
Wez
As already mentioned you want something like these :- http://www.phormula.co.uk/KnockAnalyserPro.aspx http://theknockbox.com.au/ I have used both and they work really well
Chris Wilson
The Australian Knock Box is what my mapper uses, and if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.
Gpro
With them prices i think i will leave the ignition timing as it is and save for a standalone which can detect knock
