Guest Terry S
wouldnt have thought it would stay on the ground above a gen 180...there are very few things on this planet that do a gen 200 and i have one of them in my garage and go there once every week or so. its shape that matters above 180...big power and torque are needed but shape is the deciding factor, drag multiplies and multiplies above the 180 mark and you have to be in big contact with the ground...everything goes very light and weird at 190...at 200 its an even bigger step, every 10mph feels like another 50..its fun but you have no friends at 200.when you think of it you are going quicker than a 747 is going at take off speed.i agree with neo1 ud have some serious issues with bodywork not wanting to hang around to long when you are aproaching the big 2. There is proof to prove they do stay on the ground above 180, and are very stable at the speed.

I've done 155 at brunters with no hands on the wheel- didn't budge an inch. (demonstration to a TVR owner)
Matt Harwood
I've had a GPD recording 186 mph, and it felt as stable as anything. The Jun Supra managed 249, although I appreciate it had bodywork modifications and a tad more power than most!

Yeah that car was a salt flat special, I heard that it actually went much faster than that 249, somewhere closer to 270, which unfortunately wasnt the figure officially recorded when they did the propper speed run over the distance required. Matt Harwood
Yep, I've heard that too. The higher figure was on one of their practice runs. Maybe they ran out of racefuel and had to use Optimax

And just some useless info, It also had to be pushed with a pick up to 40 miles an hour because of the gearing then it could pull away ( so im told) and that it was only using 890cc injectors for 1200 bhp ok ok it used 12 of em on a Vpro ..Very very impresive car .http://www.junauto.co.jp/democar/akira-supra/explain.html?en

Any more info about that? or would that simply be "yeah Gaz, they did 270mph".
