electrical problems solved

ok thought id post this as it may come in useful to someone else.

basically the supra ive got is going to my uncle and i have a newer vvti on the way. until i get the new car ive still got use of the 96 jspec i have.

i have been having probs with the current car and wanted to sort them out before i gave the car to my uncle.

the probs were the power would get cut off while i was driving on the motorway. also when going slow or pulling off the car would stutter and then either shoot off or stall.

i wasnt too sure what the prob was, thought it might be fuel, baterry ecu etc.

anyway i noticed that when the probs would occur the od and slip control lights would come on and the steering would get heavy. which made me think it was something to do with the battery.

this was happening everytime i went out so i have been reluctant to drive the car for the past month or two.

so i searched this forum for an answer. i remebered people writing about how crap the stock tc was so i did a search on that. low and behold i saw that it people found it faulty with the power being cut off. their solution to pull out the trac fuse as swithching it off didnt totally disable it.

tried that today. car ran perfectly. no stutters, no stalling. drove from luton to walthamstow and back, had to put up with the xmas tree lights tho :) took it to the limiter at 112mph, yes i know i was gonna remove it but no point now.

so just want to say thanks to all particpants of this board
