billy0090
better picture of pipe, i need bottom one .
Scooter
I have the following, whilst not the exact pipes I'm pretty sure one of these could be cut to size (it's nice a flexible). If you can measure the circumference of the pipe and the hard pipe I'll check if one of mine is the same.
billy0090
1.6CM across and the circumference is 5.4 cm. the length is 11 cm, do you match ?
Dnk
Just go to a local motor factors, even halfords and you should be able to buy the hose. I'd replace both of them and think about replacing all the other hoses as well
Scooter
The front left long section is this the correct diameter and circumference (there is an outer sheath that makes it look bigger in the middle) but obviously not the correct length. However it is definitely part of the coolant pipework and I think it would be fine to cut to size (your leaking bit doesn't look massively curved etc), I can cut a length off it and would do so so that the whole length is fresh ie i'll cut off the bits where the clamps have been. I only mention this in case you want it urgently, a new one will I suspect cost peanuts but you might have a wait or alternatively a general piece of coolant pipe must be available from a local factors? billy0090
scooter i appreciate your help, i do want the hose quickly. but i think visiting some local stores tomorrow should sort me out. did not realise it was that easy to get a hold of
michel lane
Just use 6mm fuel hose, put a 7mm jubilee clip on it . Buy 1 meter replace both of them buy cutting to size , then run the car with the rad cap on for 5 min while filling with antifreeze .then put cap on, this should do the trick . billy0090
ok update ; all hoses replaced , new thermostat / rad cap..... had the radiator flushed and the garage said they don't think there are any blockages as water was flowing out very quickly. took vehicle onto motorway, foot flat to floor ( past little stopper so it pretty much red lines it ) and the heat gauge slowly moved up 3/4 of the way ( i could see it move ) and i then backed down and it went to normal. im guessing thats not normal ?? if i had stayed with my foot to floor it would go into the red........ starting to think more towards head gasket but i have no smoke or oil in coolant. dan294
Could it not be that the Viscous fan clutch isn't engaging and speeding up to cool the engine when you're booting it? Just an idea.
billy0090
no the fan seems to work fine , i can make it overheat so quickly. it can be middle temp then i put my foot down for 10 seconds and il watch it move.
billy0090
took car to a good garage today, they are very confident its not the head gasket. they recon even though the rad has had a flush its going to be the internals of the rad. with it being an automatic im struggling to find after market one with the oil cooler built in at the bottom. does any one have any links to any rads that will fit? thanks

Rummy
Sounds like it wasn't bled fully. Do some more trips with the heating on. I'd definitely get rid of that old rad too.
LOGIE
try and park facing uphill if bleeding it again it will help slightly. If you heater is just blowing cold could it be your heater matrix? pita of a job.
supra steveo
yeah defo, should have parked nose up hill to fill the system too, give all the pipes a good squeeze too and the rad cap off with engine running, you should see some bubbles if there is air in the coolant system
