Andrew K
Since the Supra has been parked up over the winter months it has given me some time to do a few of the jobs i`ve been wanting to do, when i put the UK Spec bonnet on with the air scoop i`ve always intended to put the under bonnet air diverter on pictured below. But as i have a Cusco strut brace on the car it is impossible to have the air diverter above fitted to the underside of the bonnet as it fouls the strut brace As i would never be happy just leaving it off i bought myself some sheet Aluminium and got creative and made my own i got all the parts required cut out and took it to my local sheet metal fabricator and had them weld it all in place, when i got it back i gave it a few coats of VHT Black paint and its now ready to be fitted once the plastic fittings i`ve ordered turn up. Andrew K
The next job was to tackle the cam covers! a few years ago now i had them powder coated and now they`ve been on the car it`s had a horrible reaction and started to blister up due to heat and what ever else that might have caused this so as it looked a total eye sore i took them off and started the tedious job stripping the powder coating off! After a day or two doing this i wish i had never got them powdered coated lesson learned the hard way i suppose but once stripped i will be having them painted this time. Finally after five days i got it all stripped off and also decided to grind down the horrible casting edge you get on the lower edge of the cam covers. I`m now going to get them Bead blasted to give them a good thorough clean and they will then be getting painted. bayside_supra
Nice work on the air diverter. I just sprayed my cam covers in vht engine paint. Really easy to do and came up great. I used the vht primer and lacquer as well. They do a few colours.

What make of VHT paint did you use as there's quite a few different makes?

bayside_supra
I used the VHT engine metallic as well as the high temp primer and lacquer. Mine is the titanium silver blue, it would be cool to see one of the other colours. The black pearl looks nice, I was considering that one. http://www.vhtpaint.com/high-heat/vht-engine-metallic
Andrew K
Plastic fixings i`ve been waiting for recently arrived in the post, also managed to find a place close to my work that got me some M6 stainless steel nuts done in Chemi black so all fixings match the under bonnet air diverter now. Looking beautiful mate Thanks for the nice comments guys I noticed though when fitting the cam covers back on there's a fair few nuts & bolts that are quite rusty looking now so need to sort that out. Andrew K
Last weekend the 30th i went to the Simply Japanese car show at Beaulieu House, was the first time i have ever been to this show and it was really good and unlike the weather when i left home (raining!) it was nice and sunny there Also was good getting to finally meet and have a good chat with some other members and to put some faces to forum names. Got a few pictures of the MKIV Supra stand and also managed to get some nice shots of my car alone
