Hi Andrew,

Just read through this from start to end, thanks for doing such a good job with all the write ups and photos, made for a really good read. :)

Got to love a well sorted black Supra, hopefully mine will turn out something like this one day.

Congrats and hope you keep enjoying it. Any plans to change anything? Know you’d mentioned the turbo was originally a temporary fix, but guessing after the rebuild you’re planning to stick with it?

All the best.

Pete :)

Hi Pete

Thanks and glad you enjoyed reading my thread and the progress of my Supra so far. :)

Yes I am still enjoying the car very much and even more since doing the 6 speed swap and putting the 2JZ-GTE single turbo engine in, at some point I would like to upgrade my manifold, turbo, fuel rail and injectors but since I had the turbo rebuilt it’s been running so well I’ve just stuck with it for now. My rear j-spec brake keeps seizing on so I have decided to replace both rears with brand new uk spec brakes which are ordered and on there way.

Recently I wanted my Powerhouse Racing 4 piece lightweight billet pulley kit fitted (Which I have had sitting around for a while now!) So got my Supra booked in at SRD to get them fitted, on top of that I also had the gear box oil changed, Diff oil changed and engine oil & filter changed. :)

For a second time as well I had my intercooler pipe blow apart which is starting to get annoying now! But after speaking with James while I was at SRD about these I decided to change all my clamps for some Murray Constant Tension Clamps to hopefully cure this from happening again, got them ordered and they arrived last week. :)

Hi Andrew,

Would you mind letting me know the sizes of the Murray Constant Tension clamps please?

I think I’m going to be using the same intercooler setup as you and these seem like a sensible idea.

Hi

The clamp sizes I ordered were :-

Murray Constant Tension Turbo Seal Clamp - 64-86mm × 12

Murray Constant Tension Turbo Seal Clamp - 70-92mm × 2

Murray Constant Tension Turbo Seal Clamp - 95-118mm × 3

The 3 large clamps are for the air feed for the turbo and K&N filter.

With all the spare time I have had on my hands this year and not being able to go out much and socialise! I have constantly worked since March and my bank balance was starting to look pretty healthy 🙂 so thought I’d treat the supra to a brand new rear UK brake setup, one of the j-spec calipers  kept sticking on so that was another good reason to do this job, plus I’ve always wanted the rear UK setup.

Removal of the j-spec brakes.

Nice new parts ready to go on the supra 🙂

Everything fitted and it was a nice easy job to do, think they look so much better now and hopefully make a good difference.

Also got another job done which I have been wanting to do for ages, I have always hated the sound of the stock horn sound and it’s so embarrassing to use!! So wanted to upgrade to something better, I got myself a Toyota premium horn kit after seeing another member on here do the same and they sound so much better 🙂

Nice one Andrew. 👍

Where did you get your premium horn kit from buddy? Think I may do the same at some point.

Easy install? My front bumper is off at the moment so rude not to do them whilst I have easy access. 😉

Thanks Peter.

I got the premium horn kit from Toyota, I’ve had them sitting around for nearly a year now and only just got around to fitting them! Steve Manley helped me sort them out.

they just plug into the existing plugs the Oem ones are connected to so really easy to fit. 🙂
