Andrew K Posted October 9, 2014 Author Share Posted October 9, 2014 Weekend just gone i made a start on fitting my top secret gauge pod holder, got both upper and lower glove boxes removed and then offered up the gauge holder to see what the fitment was like! well as you will see from the picture i wasn`t to happy as there was a massive gap along the top edge! after a bit of cursing as i`ve been waiting ages for this to turn up! and the fit is rubbish i decided to get the fibre glass kit out so i could build up the area on the gauge pod that wasn`t level with the dash, sanded it back till it was and then put some filler on, it`s now finish sanded and ready for painting and the fit is 100 times better than it was. Andrew K Posted October 10, 2014 Author Share Posted October 10, 2014 Gauge pod only has a primer coat at the moment but will be spraying it with some black plasti-dip so looks more at home with everything else, offered it up to test the fit with the dash and think it now looks loads better. Andrew K Posted November 13, 2014 Author Share Posted November 13, 2014 Finally got my top secret gauge pod holder painted and fitted to the car, i decided not to use the plasti-dip as i`ve noticed that the panel under my stereo which is seem`s to mark quite easy! so gave the gauge pod holder a coat of satin black spray paint and think it turned out looking pretty good All the gauges are linked to the control unit, its now ready for when it goes in to SRD to have the engine fitted and all sensors connected up. Andrew K Posted February 12, 2015 Author Share Posted February 12, 2015 Not much of an update but i purchased a new throttle cable bracket that mounts to the side of the cam cover. I was also in need of the throttle cable bracket that mounts to the master cylinder but Toyota have discontinued these now! luckily i had a rummage through all the parts i have out in the garage and managed to find an old one I pulled the old tired black coating of and gave the hole bracket a clean up with a bead blaster which got it looking all nice and new, then i dipped the end in a tin of black plasti-dip i had bought to give it the nice rubber protective coating again, wasnt to sure about this but turned out ok for the little job it was. Yes I'm still using the Precision T6765 turbo. Not sure what size the IC pipes will be, asked Lee for a hard pipe kit to go with my CW SMIC but I'm sure Lee will use the correct size needed. Wanted to keep the working front active spoiler so decided to go with the CW SMIC, I've read and heard good things about these and they can handle up to 600bhp which is the max I'd like to go anyway, if it's to restrictive I'll have to go the other route and fit a FMIC and do away with the OEM active spoiler Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
