Been putting this off for a long time now but thought id finally start a thread on what i`m doing. :) and also keep a documentation of everything that gets done on the supra.

Here is a thread I started a while ago now showing what I had done regarding the spoiler, Bonnet, front active Spoiler and stereo install. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?229512-Bits-ive-done-on-my-supra

This is where i am now and i don`t want to go over the top or to mad with my build at the moment! :innocent: i have been gathering and collecting bits for some while now and still have a huge list of bits to get! getting there slowly though. Over the last year and a bit i`ve been working on a TT bottom end & head that i purchased from Jamesy`s supra when he was breaking it, thought this would be a good starting base as Jamesy's engine had been previously built by SRD and only covered roughly 1800 miles since. I also got myself a doner car which i`ve been taking parts of that i need and getting them all cleaned up and selling what i don`t need. I`m also going to be swapping out the auto box for a 6spd V161 conversion which i purchased from keron at extreme performance and this is all ready and waiting to go in the car now, the box had done 59651 miles and was taken from a 97 model supra which had minimal damage and started & drove well also.

Added a picture of the supra that will be getting all these goodies fitted one day! :eyebrows:

The car is an N/A Auto at the moment so gonna be a challenge!

This is my list of parts i have & i`ve done so far and will update as i go on,

I`ll keep you all updated and start adding some pictures of my progress so far. :)

When it comes to fitting it all to the car Lee & the team at SRD will be doing all that side of things so

Looking forward to when that starts. :D

Nice spec list! :) What sort of power you aiming for?

The only thing I would change is maybe the injectors, Becuase if your going for a big single with big power your going to want 1000cc injectors to feed enough fuel :D

800 should be enough for 700bhp or thereabouts, possibly more. Overspeccing injectors is pretty common these days, it hurts idle/offboost driving IMO

Once i had got myself an engine stand + engine i had purchased :) i got the stand all assembled and engine mounted up in my garage and started giving the block a coat of very high temperature engine enamel paint, also fitted my new water pump. this is an old pic as im changing the top water elbow so it can take the -24 AN fitting.

Excuse all the rubbish that`s in the back ground!

  • 2 weeks later...

Got my new manual gear surround painted up so it matches the rest of my dash, i didnt get any pictures while i was getting it prepped for painting :( but it was just sanded down to get the rubber texture off and then sanded with wet & dry paper to give it a nice key for the paint, then carefully masked up before painting. Also got myself a new OEM 6 speed gear knob to finish it all of when its installed.
