mark newman
What would happen if you run low impedance injectors on a s6 without a resistor pack, could it be mapped or would the s6 say no, with all its safty in place.
Chris Bailey
Run like dog crap probably! Lol
JamieP
I'm not sure on the answer but what injectors are you talking about using Mark? Surely a set of big high imp ASNU or ID2000's would be better?
mark newman
No I am just looking to a answer to that question , if I use low impedance injectors on a s6 without a resistor pack, what damage could It cause .and knowing that the S6 can only run high impedance injectors. JamieP
You need a resistor pack to run low imp injectors. http://www.syvecs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=70&p=
mark newman
yes but what would happen if one was not fitted.
JamieP
I doubt it would start.
mark newman
I think it will.
Benjy
I doubt it would start. This. I think it will. Surely that would make this a completely pointless thread?
JamieP
I don't get what you are trying to do? If Ryan says the S6 needs a resistor pack to run low imp injectors then that's what it needs.
mark newman
not pointless .

DARETT
From what I understand low impedence injectors run a lower resistance in ohm's compared to higher impedance injectors. If you run 12v through them with their lower resistance you create a higher current. This higher current can be high enough to burn up the ECU. The resistor pack just adds resistance to the injectors so less of a current is seen by the ECU and you won't be in risk of frying it. abtin90
Not sure if it would have the same effect but I have an AEM ems and when I tried mapping my car on low impedance injectors without a resistor pack the fuel started leaning out ridiculously making it impossible to map. DARETT
It just depends on what current the ECU's injector drivers are built to see. Syvecs know what the ECU can safely run current wise, so it may have started, but it would be a risk not worth running for the sake of fitting a resistor box. The higher currents could play around with the injector drivers on the ECU and just cause damage which isn't necessary.
mellonman
Exactly what darret said, Why not just buy some restistors from maplin?
