Fibreglass bumper repair..?

Hiya,

 

Bought a Supra yesterday - picking it up over the next couple of weeks, will post in the new members area when I get it home and whatnot.

However, it has a bit of damage on the front bumper, a couple of cracks. Does anyone know anywhere down south or midlands with a decent reputation for repairing these kind of things? Don't want to go somewhere that's might just bodge it up!

 

Cheers in advance, will bring a few Haribo to my first meet (I believe this is an acceptable form of currency or bribery within this club? Haha!

Welcome, I'm guessing its fibre glass anyway? If so I'd honestly upgrade to plastic as the problem will only happen again IMHO

Depending on the damage, it might be worth giving it a go yourself. Small fibreglass repairs are much easier than you may think, and will save you some money.

Last time I repaired a bumper (brand new, damaged in transit), I did the fibreglass repair on the inside of the bumper, filler on the outside, and let the bodyshop smooth it before paint.

 

If the damage is enough to warrant a respray, if its a stock bumper, I'd just try and find a replacement in the right colour. They aren't expensive on here

I suppose I could potentially just give it a go myself... How much would we then be talking for the cost of respray/touch up kind of thing?

My bumper back then cost me £200 to fully spray it. That was a few years ago now though.
