Dnk
Surely you just make sure everything is nice and clean and replace the seal, i wouldn't be using any sealer. I'd give Lee at SRD a call or CW
LOGIE
sorry I meant the seal retainer? I thought it had to be sealed with one of the above? Im hoping Lee or Chris will read this mate.

Dnk
yep seems your spot on Dunk. MP means multi purpose? right? I have no idea what MP grease is other than as you say multi purpose, its purely for fitting purposes so you don't damage the seal when you fit it onto the crank. bignum
I think you`re talking about the seal housing where it meets the sump, you will need some rtv silicone sealant, its normally black and is oil/fuel resistant, loctite do some decent stuff for this. Edit, the stuff you linked to should do it fine.
LOGIE
The circled part is what I was referring to, but as pointed out there is no mention of sealant in the TSRM.
Lee P
Yes you have to use sealant on the seal housing. Not the actual seal itself but the part that bolts to the block. Same sealant as used for the sump ect.. You can use the Toyota stuff or a good RTV sealant
