So… quite short notice on this, but I’m looking to understand interest in a club stand for JAE this year. I’ve spoken to a fair number of people about this over the last few weeks, and with no Supra Pod this year, it’d be nice to ensure we keep as many get togethers going as we can (especially since we had such glorious weather, and an amazing time at last years one!)

 

JAE this year is being held 12^th-15^th September at Wicksteed Park in Northamptonshire (http://www.japcarclub.com/). For the regulars, you know what this is all about. For those that are new, what could be better than this:

 

 

 

I’ll update this post, and the thread with more info over the next few days, but in the first instance I wanted to get something up as soon as possible.

 

For the purposes of what we’re trying to do here, I’d appreciate it if we could have an idea of if it’s definite that you want to attend. Club attendance isn’t yet definite; to get this organised at this short notice, it’s really going to mean some good will from the show organisers, getting our skates on (including getting payments once costs have actually been worked out) but mostly given what the club will be contributing it wouldn’t be right to do something unless we hit a decent number of attendees.

 

Anyway, I’m off out for chocolate cake, so names in an orderly queue please

To confirm, there were two options:

 

- A car ticket, to cover entry for your car, you, and your food and drink for the weekend @ £60

 

- A passenger ticket, to cover entry for passengers, food and drink for the weekend @ £60

 

UPDATE 20/08/13: List separated in to paid list and wish list (mainly for those who haven't contacted me about what they're doing). First ticket order has gone in with the event; I'll do another if necessary within the next week or so, but any really late stragglers will have to be under a different arrangement (which I'll confirm).

They've even offered to have a Supra as the cover car for the show guide!

Is John Fuggles involved? If so I am shocked.

 

I was asked by Tom S to help with some issues they had with JAE 2011 and not letting members in to the show. These were people who had paid but their tickets did not arrive in time. We were basically accused of trying it on and I took exception to this as Tom, myself and Steve (Red mod) are all as straight as the day is long.

 

There was obviously a clash of personalities between Tom and John but the whole red tape issue really got to Tom as we had 4 or 5 members stood outside Wicksteed park and John asking us for £250.00 for tickets that had already been paid for. In the end he let them in as we would prove that they had been purchased and that JAE had had the money.

 

Made me think about not going again but I would not let one person's lack of trust ruin what is a great weekend where members really do bond and have chances to get to know each other well. I look at some of the members I am closest to, and JAE and Dragonball is probably the main reason for that relationship.
