Car not starting - cut out on motorway and hasn't started since

Hi

So on the way back from bluewater yesterday my car cut out on the motorway. I coasted to the hard shoulder but the car wouldn't start again & hasn't since.

So the car cranks, but won't start. The fuel pump isn't kicking in, I've done the fp +b paper clip thing but the car still refuses to start (pump can be heard).

I've checked the grey harness connector to make sure it's plugged in. I've charged the battery (it was dead after several hours if waiting for recovery).

I've swapped the EFI relays. I had 3 error codes, code 12, 42 & 47. I have since cleared the ECU and now have 47 only. I have fuel also!!

What should I check? What have I missed?

I'm thinking get another fuel pump controller?

Help!

Thanks

Rob

Good luck, I hope its fine. Is the 2JZ-GTE a NON Interference engine? Ive heard both yes and no.

Its non interference until you install cams with a lift over about 9.5 if I remember correctly, it may even be higher than that, I know HKS 264 cams are OK :)

Cambelt is the last thing i would have checked, especially being recent, i suppose you never know.

I only managed to guess through experience as it happened to me....In a 306GTI6 though which is quite common in them.

I feel bad now for guessing right. I suppose at least you know whats wrong and not spending money to find out mate.

I'm glad you said.. I've had the footwell apart, the rear quarter...

It's a genuine Toyota, saying that I've just been reminded its 2 years old.. As I put it on when I transplanted my car... I should really have swapped it again when I put the built block in...

Sorry to see you had issues Rob, as its the timing belt that got shredded and its brand new I suppose the next question is why has it got shredded?!

Still thinking that Adam, going to take all the covers off and see if I can see where it was rubbing to see if I can see any problems ! Bloody cars!

Yeah I have to say I was surprised when I opened up the cam cover to discover bits of rubber and material balls!
