vvti bov ?

Hi I am looking at fitting a hks atmospheric bov to my j spec TT vvti 1998, I am getting conflicting information as whether this is possible because of the maf, some say the ECU will get confused and the engine will run rich, others tat it won't be a problem, what are peoples views on here? Is anyone running a bov on a vvti problem free?

:D

For anybody that interested, I pmd Paul at whifbitz and asked the question, his answer is atmospheric bov can be fitted to vvti without problem. So whatever people's opinions of these valves are, they can be fitted without problem.:D

So im informed !

Of course they can be fitted...but that doesn't make it a good idea.

To be honest the Recirculating version of the HKS BOV is loud enough. Unless you're a chav. And that will save you from the embarrasingly stalling or having to fit some other cludge to get round it.

A wise man once said , if you have nothing important to say then say nothing, I think typecasting people as chavs, shows bigotory and intolerance, lest we all forget opinions are like a--eholes we all have one, and ours doesn't stink.

wow - you missed the important info and focus'ed on the chav comment.

Clearly you want to vent to atmosphere...so just do it...

which was answered very quickly, there are no gains from fitting a bov , unless single turbo to stop compressor stall which some say is bad and so say its okay , i say anything that stops a turbo spinging freely is bad.

you took the chav comment very to heart , DONT ! we are all pi$$ takers on here and i would get use to it quickly or you will get upset x

you can get forge and hks recirculating ones as said in previous posts

but vvti and bov will cause issues. i had one on my golf gti fitted by previous owner , nothing but trouble luckily it was a forge one which could be changed to recirculating.

i have stock one fitted and it sounds loud like its dumping through my air filter since i fitted the blitz cone

I had one on my car and 110% loved it to bits, it sounded amazing much a friend that also owns a Supra told me my BOV sounded much louder and better than his one that was a NA/T.

I've recently took off my OEM twin turbo's to fit a single turbo and from inspecting them I found they were in perfect condition!

Uk cars have maf sensors and my car runs fine, and has done for years (7) with an atmospheric bov. Doesn't run any richer than normal.

The only time I have had it stall (its an auto) was when the battery has been unplugged and its relearning. And it's only done that 3 times when stationary. So I assume unrelated.

Put it on. Enjoy.

I run my single without a bov at all :)
