Kaan W
Can anyone who has experience with building these engines tell me the best socket to use for stuff like head bolts etc? Ive searched and got different answers such as torx, hex, double hex and I just cant seem to get a straight answer, so what is the proper socket for a snug fit? Cheers

Cheers Double hex, I got mine from machine mart in a set. Dont be tempted to try a torx, it'll gub the bolt.
Kaan W
Double hex, I got mine from machine mart in a set. Dont be tempted to try a torx, it'll gub the bolt. Yeah I kind of read stories of people chewing the bolts with all of the above but wanted to hear what people here use, I think the majority use a double hex so i'll get some of them. Thanks for your input!
bigbloodyturbo
no worries mate, I just had a quick look and I found the set I used here http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cht144-40-pce-torxspline-bit-holder-s?da=1&TC=SRC-bit+set its an XZN triple square bit which isn't strictly a bi-hex but its about as close as you'll get without finding the specialist tool. Ah ok thanks, anywhere I can get the bi hex? Or is the tri square more than capable of doing the job?
bigbloodyturbo
I've never seen a bi-hex for sale in a bit socket, seen it in a socket though. The only difference between a bi-hex and a triple square as far as I know is the angle of each point is slightly different. I read on the net snapon do one but it was on an american forum and I don't know if the local snapon van will have it. If you would like borrow mine I can see if I can find the bit set and stick the M12 in the post to you, save you buying the set.
