Andy-No-Knee
I have a single turbo kit at the moment but after buying a new engine (specs below) I'm thinking that a more modern turbo will finish the project off. The turbo kit I have is a HKS 30/37s turbo. It is good, fast spooling but runs out of puff at the top end. Not sure on what power figure I want but looking at the spec list below I think I am restriced by the 750cc injectors. Basically I just want to get the turbo without having to get new injectors and other bits, oh and idealy it will fit on the HKS manifold as well saving me even more dosh. So, the engine is a 1.5JZGTE with the following... 1JZGTE head. Ported inlet and ported/polished exhaust. Valve seats reprofiled. Ferrea 6000 series Valves. Inlet oversized, exhaust standard. Crower titanium valve springs and retainers Stem seals replaced Brian Crower 264/264 cam shafts HKS head gasket Greddy Cam Pullies. Greddy copy larger aftermarket inlet manifold Seimans 750cc injectors TTs fuel rail Aeromotive FPR 2 x Walbro fuel pumps and custom fuel lines. 2JZGTE block. Block was re-bored for oversized pistons. Crank shaft lightened and balanced. JE pistons Eagle rods ARP head studs ARP crank studs ARP rod bolts PHR oil pump Boostlogic Crank pully Now I really want it to be a fast spooling turbo, and as I say, I'm limited by the injectors which I dont want to change. Suggestions please..... and thanks!
Swampy442
How much power do you want Andy? If its around the 500 ball park you really cant go wrong with a GT35 sized turbo. Im running a T67 dbb which surprised me on the spool front.
Nic
For a fast road setup my preference would be a Garrett GTX3582R .82A/R, this will spool up very quickly and at 1.5bar should be good for around 600hp. What ECU are you using?
Andy-No-Knee
The ecu is an Apexi Power FC. It is for fast road. I keep reading on here about the BW Batmowheels. Are they better than the GTX3882 you have mentioned? Any ideas on the cost front for both?

They are different tech but also about half the price.
Nic
I keep reading on here about the BW Batmowheels. Are they better than the GTX3882 you have mentioned? The BW EFR series with titanium turbine wheel may have a slight edge but tbh you won't be disappointed with any of the modern double ball bearing turbos of this size. http://www.enginebasics.com/Advanced%20Engine%20Tuning/Precision%20vs%20Garrett%20vs%20Borg%20Warner.html

Wez
What, the BW are half the price of the Garrett ones? You can get a BW unit for between £650 to £900 depending on model and supplier, the Garrett units I believe are twice that.
Andy-No-Knee
Wow!!! Suddenly they are in my price range and not for next year..... Hmmm. Thanks. So what would be an equivalent BW to the Garrett GTX3582R .82A/R?

So what would be an equivalent BW to the Garrett GTX3582R .82A/R? I'm doing some reading up on various turbo kits for my new car, just in case I don't get on with the T88-34D Compared with the Garrett GTX3582R .82A/R, I'd probably look at the Borg Warner S360 or a Precision 6266. A GTX3576R is around £1000 brand new, although that's without an exhaust housing.

I think I know the basic but not the implications.

Ian C
Where did you get that price from Ian? I checked ebay.co.uk back then, there were several Canada/USA places that offered them for about £1000 plus pnp. I've just revisited and they've shot up to £1500 delivered UK prices are a joke, £1600 plus delivery. What a ripoff.
