ballsdeep
Please can someone tell me what these error codes mean..? 65431 through to 65440 flash read error Ok so What's happened is i finally get to stage where I can try and get a tune out of the old girl but with the emu plugged in it won't fire.. Il try and explain the best I can. so I crank it over but nothing happens unless I use a little throttle but then it dies instantly, after I can hear what Im guessing to be the fuel pump working overtime for a few seconds. It's quite loud! when I plugged the ecu into the laptop I got these error codes: I cleared them but then got a new code 65441 flash read error after it still wouldn't start. Iv done a diagnostic check but that came back clear, so I decided to remove the EMU and try again using the stock ecu to which she fired up instantly.. Until I can double check all the wiring I was hoping someone would have an idea what these error codes are?? ballsdeep
it doesn't happen when im using the stock ecu? and its only after it cuts out. just found this: http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/forums/showthread.php?92014-fault-codes-for-E-manage-Ultimate I do sometimes get a steady flashing red light but most the time its green? Gpro
I have the document for the full emanage ultimate wiring to a 2jzgte if you want it PM me your email address
ballsdeep
Just removed the loom and plug n play harness to check the wiring but it all looks ok? Could it be a firmware problem? Sorry I'm new to all this here's what it updated to when I first communicated with it.
Benjy
Logic would suggest if it runs on a stock ECU, the wiring and everything at the engine end of the loom is working as it should. Has the e-manage been used on your car before? Or is it a new addition?
ballsdeep
Just the EMU harness was removed.. Can I triple check the wiring by plugging my patch extension back in but don't plug in the EMU and see if it will fire up?? It's a second hand unit, Iv never had it fitted to my car before So I don't know the history of it!
Tricky-Ricky
Have yo not got the EMU instructions? they have the error codes that you might see listed, it does sound like a connection problem to me.
ballsdeep
No i didn't get any Instructions with it. I hope it's just a connection problem, I can't afford to spend more money on a new EMU If it still doesn't start with the EMU out if the loop then I need to re-solder the Connections! Il give it an hour before I wake the neighbours.
ballsdeep
What are you other na-t guys doing about ignition control? Have you wired it up? http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-first-generation/596679-emanage-ultimate-problem-no-ignition-control.html
ballsdeep
Few updates cut connection for ignition control and linked back up with patch harness - still didn't start Switched jumper8 from 1-2 to 2-3 still the same! I didn't try removing EMU from the loop because after thinking about it I can't see it working! Is there anything else I could try? Maybe a firmware update? Gpro
do you know if the previous owner was running racelogic traction control with the emanage? If yes then the 6 fuel injector wires are most likely cut. check the harness to make sure their isnt any cut wires. Happened to me years ago it was driving me crazy why it wouldn't start
ballsdeep
No idea mate but Iv had a result.. I plugged the laptop in re-done the base map and fired it up while I was still communicating and it runs just fine, so I disconnected and tried again and everything's ok?? So I'm happy!! All I can put it down too is maybe I didn't install the base map correctly?? Doesn't seem to be showing anymore error codes either! Noz
Great news mate. Shame you didn't open the ingnition map before hand to compare any twisted values. Glad to hear you sorted it mate. What did you do about the downpipe in the end
ballsdeep
Cheers pal all I could do with the dwn pipe was put it on loosely! Its blowing its tits off!! Think my only option is to weld 2 v-bands together so I can get it to the exhaust shop! Was it you who made something similar?
Fly
Glad to hear you got this sorted. Didn't even think to suggest maki sure you had wiped the old base map off
ballsdeep
I can't take the credit for it! It was a beautiful mistake, clicked cancel when It asked to import data, so I just set a new one up.
ballsdeep
I cut the ignition control wires to rule the stalling issue out but I'm now wondering if its worth connecting them back up..? What benefits does it have? Seems to be optional going from the wiring instructions.
Fly
I think it's so they can retard the timing advance as the na has a huge wack of it further up the revrange
