nellie1966
I was wondering what would be the best shocks & springs to give me the best ride, bearing in mind that i will not be doing any track time or chucking it around corners, well not too much anyway. Also i have a V8 up front which is 35kg lighter than the 6. Plus i'm running 235/40/18 Front & 265/35/18 Rear. Cheers.
Josh42
I would say OEM Yellow Bilsteins with Eibach lowering springs are considered the best setup for road use.
nellie1966
Thanks Josh, When you say lowering springs will that not mean stiffer?
Josh42
All depends on spring rates pal, all supra suspension is relatively stiff anyway, but the Eibachs and Bilsteins are supposedly the best all round set up:)

Chris Wilson
Stock springs on new Bilstein dampers that I modify to keep a stock rake due to the lighter engine. Can do custom valving if you like, too.
Nic
Also i have a V8 up front which is 35kg lighter than the 6. 35kg lighter than a 2JZGTE or 2JZGE?

nellie1966
Nic, The engine was N/A from a 94 aero, so which one was that?
Josh42
That would be a GE...
Nic
Nic, The engine was N/A from a 94 aero, so which one was that? NA - 2JZGE. Oh okay ignore me then, i was just thinking if it was the 35kg lighter than a turbo engine you could use NA springs.
Chris Wilson
Chris, How much would it cost me for the stock spring & modified Bilstein set up.? - - - Updated - - - Chris, How much would it cost me for the stock spring & modified Bilstein set up.? Stock valved new Bilsteins with modified front spring mounts are £648 inc VAT a full set. If you wanted custom valving add £60 plus VAT per damper. You probably don't need that. Stock springs won't be much, reckon on say £50 for a used set.
Josh42
I've got a used set of springs you can have for £30+ postage.

nellie1966
Nic, Thats a good thought, as i would probably only have to buy the shocks then. Cheers.
