Noz
Anyone have any views on this? Been in discussion with Zircotec about having my manifold coated. Looking at around £302 for the manifold. Priced me £91 for the exhaust turbo housing and around £120 for the downpipe. Be a lot cheaper to wrap it, but is it worth cutting corners? I get loads of heat soak onto the throttle body running over head intake. Is all this hasshle worth it, or shall I spend the money on a decent turbo blanket (mines old). Rob_Mitchell
Zircotec is great but not cheap. My twins have been zircotec coated then wrapped, does keep temps down. usually just a wrap is good enough though
Kaan W
Thats not a bad price for the zirotec I always thought it was mega money, does a decent titanium wrap not cost around this price anyway?
Parry_10
Ssome people say wrapping the manifold keeps the heat in but then makes the manifold more prone to cracking. I'm trying to make a decision on what to do with mine think I will leave the manifold as it is and wrap the downpipe.
Nic
I'd definitely fit a good quality turbo blanket, they are very effective.
Noz
The price for the manifold wasn't including VAT or shipping. So that's straight up to £360+. I'm throwing in the towl at that point. New turbo blacket for me I think. It would be good to see some hard comparisons of wrap against coatings. I think the main factor is cost, as with most things. Zircotec is great but not cheap. Did you shop around before going to them, be nice to see who else you considered

Looks far better than any wrap but im not knocking wrapping as that too "does the job"
Kaan W
Bit of an odd question but can the titanium wrap be polished?

Corrospondance is really fast and pleasent, and their answers and heavy with detailed information. You almost feel rude for bothering them as you know how much effort they will make to your reply. They were very informative and had answers for all my questions, even example pieces to back up what they were saying, definitely a top grade product and if you have the wallet well worth getting

Marco79
Advice: If you want to wrap the manifold and downpipe is not enought 10 meters When I did my tubular manifold I used 50mtrs of 1" and 10mtrs of 2"
ballsdeep
20m of magma wrap was enough to cover my manifold, with loads left! http://www.thermalvelocity.co.uk
Kaan W
Really 20m? I thought you needed about 50m to cover a manifold....
Marco79
Really 20m? I thought you needed about 50m to cover a manifold.... Not sure about a single manifold but an NA tubular manifold with incorporated 1st decat requires 50mtrs of 1" and 10mtrs of 2"
ballsdeep
Really 20m? I thought you needed about 50m to cover a manifold.... Yeah mate 50mm x 20mtrs did the job perfectly over lapping by half! I must have at least 5mtrs left! But this is on a single turbo na-t manifold.
