Golfpro
After nearly 10 years on the car the Blitz Technospeed Z1s were looking a lot worse for wear. Last year I had a go myself at refurbing the polished rim but it was very difficult due to the overhanging spokes. I sanded it down with reducing grit paper and finished with Zepplin metal polish. The rims looked reasonable but the centre section was very tatty. As a result I sort of gave up trying to keep the rim polished. So a couple of weeks ago I decided to get them professionally restored as the only proper way do do it is split them and refinish the 3 pieces seperately before reassembling. Got them back today. Golfpro
Did you go to Nu-look bud? How long did it take? No. Nu-look wont touch split rims. Left them with a Polish chap in Dundonald who trades under the name Polishing Alloys. I am getting them done two at a time as I cant take both front wheels off at the same time ( the old 17 inch wheels dont fit over the Brembo front calipers so it is jacked up on one side ). It took him a couple of weeks to do the first two as he had to leave them soaking in WD40 for over a week to loosen the rim nuts before splitting. I would think he probably could have done all 4 in the same time if I had left them all with him.
Golfpro
Did it set you back much ? £200 all in. There were other firms quoting that for each wheel. He doesnt have a fancy workshop so probably doesnt have much overhead. And probably works cash in hand most of the time.

Golfpro
Is that for 2 wheels or 4? Still a cracking deal and looks amazing Thats for all 4. Even if it costs another 100 for the extra time it has taken him to split them it is still great value.
